Hello!
Today was our final day in Stockholm! The three days here have flown by. They have kept us plenty of busy every morning till about noon! Last night was great. We had dinner at a great Italian place and then walked around the town for a little while after that. This morning we went on a tour of Drottingham Palace, the residence of the King and Queen of Sweden. It was HUGE! I have decided I want to be a princess, which means I'll have to marry a prince. So that's going to be the next goal I work towards. After the tour of the palace we took an hour long steamboat ride back to the City Hall in downtown Stockholm. The City Hall was very ornate with very original decorations in every room. It was made to look a lot older than it actually is, as it was built in the 1920's.
After the tour at the City Hall, me and Jennifer went on an adventure of our own! First of all the tours hold just a little too long, and we were starving. We also had come up with a plan to go to a Swedish beach. So we headed to H&M, a store with the equivalancy of Forever 21. We each found a swimsuit that fit for the most part, cause we couldn't remember which suitcase our swimsuit that we brought was actually packed in. At H&M we asked the girl's to tell us where the closest sandwich shop was. So we headed across the street to Sandy's and each had the biggest Ceaser wrap either of us have ever seen, but it was delicious!
We came back to the hotel and packed our bag for the beach! It was about a 20 minute walk till we finally found a spot that would work. There was a ton of Swedish people everywhere. It looked kind of like a beach in Port Aransas, but on a much smaller scale, and it was a beach made of grass, so maybe it should be called more of a park. Anyways we thought the water was part of the Baltic Sea but it ended up just being one of their lakes. Oh well, it was still a blast. A little later in the afternoon about 10 more people joined us. On our way back to the beach we stopped at McDonald's and ate off the dollar menu. McDonald's taste much better in a foreign country than it would ever taste at home!!! I probably wouldn't even be caught dead eating there, but it was great!
That's about all for our exciting day today! We leave in the morning at 9 for Copenhagen and we will be there for 3 days! We're taking the train so this will be my first time to ride acoss the countryside on a train!
Miss you!
Hillary
