Hello From Stockholm!

Well after a 9 hour flight, a short layover, and another 2 hour flight, we've finally made it to Stockholm this afternoon. I was dreading the plane ride on the way over but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. The plane was by far one of the biggest I've been on. We got our own blankets and pillows and even individual tvs on the headrest in front of us. They served us dinner and breakfast, although I missed breakfast due to sleeping. Dinner was chicken and rice with some weird sides. Our second flight today to Sweden served tuna sandwiches... it smelled like cat food. But after finally making it, we were able to eat some pretty delicious food. We got in Stockholm around 2:30 and had about a 40 minute drive to downtown Stockholm where our hotel is located. We freshened up in the room and then went out to explore the city. Everything here is within walking distance and the city is surrounded by rivers and water. Two parts of the city were very easy to distinguish from one another. The downtown area is very modern, complete with every store and fast food restaraunt you could find in America; I've probably seen atleast 3 McDonald's already in Stockholm. 7-11 is also pretty common on the street corners. The other area of Stockholm we got to explore was the island, also known as the old city. It looked straight out of a movie, with its cobblestone streets and pubs on every corner. We ended up eating at a really good Italian restrauant with pizza and pasta. Finally a good meal to end the day. Afterwards we enjoyed walking around and looking like the typical American tourists, all of us flashing our cameras and practically yelling to each other through the streets. Tomorrow we have an early morning with tours starting at 9, so breakfast by 8. It's going to be another busy yet fun-filled day to explore the city.

Miss yall and love yall,
Hillary
