Dublin for the Weekend

We're on our way back from Dublin, Ireland this morning! We decided to take the train and ferry over for the weekend and visit. We just don't seem to have good train experiences, so I'm not sure how people over here rely on them so much. We made it a little over half way through the train ride when the train just broke down, and somehow no one ever knows the reason. We had less than an hour to make it to the last ferry of the day. As soon as we got off the train, we got a taxi and he took us to the ferry ride. The ferry lasted a little over 2 hours. We got in Friday night around 8 and met the rest of the group that had flown over. There was about 20 of us over here and it was an absolute blast. Friday night we went downtown and ate at this Irish Pub that had delicious food and live music. We stayed in a hostile this weekend and it was such an interesting experience. All we had was a room full of 12 bunk beds and a sink without a mirror. Lets just say we didn't shower or anything all weekend, so I'm ready to get back to London. Saturday morning we all woke up about 9 and decided to visit the Jameson Whiskey Distillery in Dublin. After the tour we ate lunch at a cafe across the road and decided to take the train out to the country to a little town called Bray. The reason we picked this town is because supposedly it was where some of the scenes from P.S. I love you were filmed. The train ride was about an hour long and the scenery was gorgeous because we were on the edge of the mountain looking over the ocean. We didn't really have any plans so we just started walking around. It ended up that Ireland's largest summer festival was going on and it was great! They had live music and the carnival and all overlooked the beach. It was so much fun and great to get away from the big city and see the Irish countryside. We're on our way back to London now and today is going to be filled with studying, sleeping, and laundry. Tomorrow morning we go to the Jaguar plant in Birmingham. After that, we'll probably pick a small town in Whales to go visit for the day. The entire trip to Europe and Great Britain has been great so far and I really hope these next 5 weeks don't fly by so fast.

Love,
Hillary
